Unicode Block - Glagolitic Supplement
Glagolitic Supplement is a set of characters that extends the encoding of the early Slavic Glagolitic script, specifically covering the smaller, angled forms and variant letters used in later medieval and liturgical texts. These supplementary glyphs were added to support historical and scholarly distinctions between the original round Glagolitic letters and the more compact, cursive-style forms found in Croatian and other regional manuscripts. The characters include additional vowels, consonant variants, and some diacritical-like marks, enabling more precise digital representation of the script’s full typographical and paleographic range. This supplement helps researchers and linguists accurately transcribe and analyze rare Glagolitic documents without resorting to private-use encoding or font-specific substitutions.
