Hanunoo is a script used for writing the Hanunoo language, spoken by the Mangyan people on the island of Mindoro in the Philippines, and it is traditionally inscribed onto bamboo with a knife. This writing system includes twenty-three consonant and vowel characters, along with diacritical marks that modify vowel sounds, and it is written in vertical columns from bottom to top, though the columns are read from left to right. The script also features its own set of punctuation marks, such as a period-like sign and a phrase separator, which help structure the text without relying on spaces between words.
