Hangul Jamo is the set of individual consonantal and vocalic characters that form the building blocks of the Korean Hangul script, representing the phonetic components that are combined into syllabic blocks. It includes initial consonants (choseong), medial vowels (jungseong), and final consonants (jongseong), along with several obsolete or archaic jamo used for historical transcriptions and linguistic research.
