Sidetic is a historical script used to write the Sidetic language, an ancient Anatolian tongue spoken in the region of Pamphylia in southern Asia Minor during the Hellenistic period. This writing system, which was deciphered only partially, features a unique set of characters that include both alphabetic and syllabic signs, reflecting influence from Greek and local Anatolian traditions. The script appears primarily on coins, inscriptions, and a few stone monuments, dating roughly from the 5th to the 2nd century BCE, and its limited corpus makes it a valuable but challenging subject for epigraphers studying the linguistic diversity of ancient Anatolia.
