Takri is an abugida script historically used across the western Himalayan region, particularly in areas of modern-day India, Nepal, and Pakistan, to write languages such as Dogri, Kangri, and Chambiali. This script, characterized by its angular and flowing letterforms, evolved from the Sharada script and was widely employed for administrative, commercial, and religious documents before the spread of Devanagari and Gurmukhi.
