CCC30 is a numeric value assigned to a specific category of diacritical marks, namely those that sit above their base character and are classified as “attached above” in the positional system. This means the mark is physically connected to or touches the base glyph, but unlike some other above marks, it does not involve a reordering or a special interaction with adjacent marks for normalization purposes. In practice, CCC30 indicates that the combining mark should be applied after any marks with lower class numbers, but it does not force a canonical reordering with marks of higher classes, making it a relatively low-priority, stable class. Examples include certain vowel signs or tone marks in scripts like Devanagari or Thai, where the attached superscript position is clearly defined.
