When a line break occurs, a close punctuation character will not appear at the beginning of the next line; instead, it stays with the previous line's ending. This ensures visual continuity and prevents awkward spacing, such as an opening bracket on one line and its closing counterpart starting the next. The rule also prohibits breaking before these characters, unless a stronger break opportunity exists elsewhere in the text, which helps maintain the grammatical and typographic integrity of written material.
