Script - Georgian
Georgian is an alphabetic script used primarily for writing the Georgian language, as well as other Kartvelian languages like Mingrelian and Svan. Its Unicode character property covers three historical forms: Mkhedruli, the modern rounded capital and lowercase letters used in everyday writing; Asomtavruli, the ancient monumental uppercase forms; and Nuskhuri, the later ecclesiastical lowercase forms. The script is characterized by its distinct, curvilinear letter shapes, with no case distinction in Mkhedruli, though the older forms are used in liturgical contexts. Each character represents a single phoneme, and the script is written left to right. In Unicode, Georgian letters are assigned to specific code blocks, including the main Georgian block (U+10A0–U+10FF) and extensions for the supplementary characters, preserving the script's unique identity and enabling digital text processing.
