Script - Multani

Multani is a historical script used primarily for writing the Saraiki language, once spoken in the Multan region of present-day Pakistan. Its character set includes letters, digits, and punctuation marks that were adapted from the Arabic and Persian scripts, featuring distinctive cursive forms and a right-to-left writing direction. The script fell out of common use by the early 20th century, but its characters are preserved in digital standards to support historical research and text processing. In encoded form, each Multani character is assigned a unique identifier, allowing for accurate representation in documents, databases, and software applications.
