Its medium-light skin tone reflects the Fitzpatrick scale type III, allowing for more inclusive representation in digital communication. Commonly used to signal a stop gesture, a wave, a request for a high five, or a casual greeting, this emoji can also convey a sense of pushing something away or asking for attention without speaking. The raised back of hand differs from a waving hand because the palm is not visible, giving it a firmer or more neutral tone depending on context.
