Variation Selector - No
No is a designation for code points that do not function as variation selectors, meaning they lack the ability to request a specific glyph variant for a preceding base character. Characters flagged with this value are ordinary, non-selecting symbols, letters, or marks, and they have no effect on how adjacent characters are rendered. In practice, this means they cannot alter the presentation of a prior character to switch between typographic styles, such as emoji vs. text, or historical vs. standardized forms. Instead, they follow default Unicode normalization and shaping rules, staying visually independent. This value applies to the vast majority of Unicode code points, including all standard alphanumerics, punctuation, and most diacritics, ensuring that only a small, dedicated set of code points (the actual variation selectors) carry the special behavioral role. Thus, "No" simply indicates the absence of variation selection functionality.
