U+2126 "" Ohm Sign Unicode Character

Unicode Version 18.0

Source: Noto Sans Source: Browser Default

U+2126 "" Ohm Sign is a typographic symbol representing the ohm, the SI unit of electrical resistance, and is visually identical to the Greek capital letter omega. It was included in Unicode for compatibility with legacy character sets and standards, but its use is deprecated in favor of the standard Greek letter omega U+03A9, which is preferred for modern text encoding. Because the two characters are canonically equivalent, U+2126 exists primarily for round-trip conversion with older systems and should generally be avoided in new writing.
