U+12FC3 "𒿃" Cypro-Minoan Sign Cm064 Unicode Character
Unicode Version 17.0
U+12FC3 "𒿃" Cypro-Minoan Sign Cm064 is part of the Cypro-Minoan syllabary, a script used primarily on the island of Cyprus during the Late Bronze Age, roughly from the 16th to the 11th century BCE. This sign represents one of the phonetic symbols in the undeciphered Cypro-Minoan writing system, which is considered an ancestor of the later Cypriot syllabary used for the Greek and Eteocypriot languages. The character was added to the Unicode Standard in 2022 as part of the Cypro-Minoan block, enabling scholars and linguists to digitally encode and study this ancient script, of which fewer than 2,000 inscriptions have been found on clay tablets, vessels, and seals. Its inclusion facilitates more precise typographic representation and analysis of the script's syllabic values and possible connections to Linear A and Linear B.
